I live an hour away from Chicago, and here is a picture of an Elk that is 15 minutes away from my house. XDDD
There is a small reserve near where I live and they have elk there because the town is called Elk Grove. So, you don't really care about my personal life, do you??

Anyways, it kind of looked like he was posing for the picture and almost smiling. That's what I think though. It may look different to you.
